Sodefor invited by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MEDD) of the DRC to host the capacity building workshop for national and provincial inspectors in charge of MEDD forest control

Kinshasa, 28 November 2024

Sodefor was invited by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MEDD) to host the training and capacity building workshop for national and provincial forest inspectors in its facilities. This activity was funded by the U.S. Government through the U.S. Forest Service.

This invitation demonstrates the company's position as a key player in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in terms of compliance with the Forest Law, implementation of the management plan and compliance with sustainable forest management practices.

The company's participation in the training workshop contributed to capacity building for national and provincial forest inspectors, ensuring rigorous enforcement of forest laws and effective monitoring of forestry activities.

Sodefor's facilities and qualified experts provided an environment conducive to learning and professional development. The inspectors were equipped with information and knowledge to effectively monitor actors who do not respect the law and contribute to the degradation of the DRC's forests.

Sodefor's role in the Preservation of the Congolese Forest

As a leader in the forestry sector, Sodefor has always highlighted the importance of sustainability and compliance with environmental regulations. This collaboration with MEDD for this training reflects its continued commitment to play an active role in the preservation of Congolese forests and the fight against environmental crimes.
